This ecletic residence it’s a reconstruction project led by the interior designer Lara German, that took more than a year to be accepted legally, but the result couldn’t be more surprisingly amazing. Every corner of this bold home has an art piece that tells a story. It has a lot of unique items, ranging from marble countertops inlaid with semiprecious stones to furniture items designed specifically for this project.
The idea was to combine two apartments located one above other. It was necessary to make a design opening under the staircase, and to position the staircase in such a way that it was correctly entered into the space, occupying a minimum of usable area. The decision came bold and original and became one of the most difficult yet most beloved projects from Lara German.
The kitchen design set mixes classic and contemporary concepts, blue and white are the main colors on this space that gives a peacefully feeling and luxurious style at the same time.
The incredible living room is the center of the art. From a red horse lamp coming from a wall to a nature inspired gold center table, this home division sparkles joy. This eclectic mix of the disparate gives to this room and expensive and sleek aesthetic. The ceiling and the walls are detailed with classic ornaments and a sumptuous chandelier that gives a rich feeling to the ambience. The design projects it’s full of statement pieces from several luxury brands, such as the Eden Center Table, one of the most well-know piece from Boca do Lobo, which uses the highest quality materials and textures, giving it the resemblance of the tree in which it was named and producing shapes that create a cosmopolitan luxury environment.
The other living room of the house it’s a more serene one with neutral tones and with a lot less lights, the Lapiaz Sideboard from Boca do Lobo matches perfectly with the hues of the early night sky and the furniture’s delicate light tones, becoming a pleasing harmony place.
This interior design project is an incredible fusion of luxury and ecletic style. A unique and special home that defines the boundaries of boldness in an extraordinary way.

For years, all-white has dominated interior trend forecasts. From white painted walls and luxury linens to contemporary marble surfaces and porcelain kitchen splashbacks – the desire to decorate your interior with white has created a clean and balanced canvas that can be accented with colourful décor. However, this year all-white interiors are set to see a change in rhythm. Black is making a comeback and it certainly won’t pass by unnoticed
TIMELESS BLACK & WHITE
Where some might stray away from black interior walls, others embrace this colour with a growing enthusiasm. In fashion, black and white is a timeless go-to and the interior design world is no different. The stark contrast of light and dark hues instils a room with a luxurious and high-end finish. Before taking the plunge and embracing black and white in your own interior, it’s worth taking the time to carefully think about how you execute the trend.
CONSIDER THE ROOM
First things first – identify location. If north-facing, the light can be much harsher and so a complete overhaul to black interior walls could put your scheme at risk of feeling emotionless and unwelcoming. South-facing rooms give the most interior freedom as the natural light is significantly warmer. If east or west-facing, it’s worth considering at what time of day you’ll be using these interiors. East-facing interiors are cooler in the morning followed by brighter light in the afternoon, while west-facing rooms are the opposite.
INCORPORATE BLACK INTO WHITE INTERIORS
For ease and simplicity, incorporate black toned furniture and décor into existing all-white interiors. Swapping white soft furnishings for black alternatives will create an instant boutique feel within a space. Dark bed linen will imbue a bedroom with a notable cosiness, whilst an iconic black velvet sofa will sit elegantly within a white-walled living room. Bring the interior together using black and darker shades throughout your décor. Prints with black frames and touches of paint on skirting boards add instant dimension to white interior walls. Smoke glass chandeliers are very on trend this season and introduce an ambient balance to your scheme.
GO BOLDER WITH BLACK WALLS
To embrace the black and white trend more intensely, paint or paper interior walls with a black shade. Try accenting a chimney breast with black paint on the walls either side or fashioning a contrasting black feature wall. Then warm things up with white soft furnishings and crystal glass light fixtures. However, don’t feel limited to monochromatic forms. Incorporate softer wooden textures, flourishes of greenery and brushed brass metallics to bring balance to the drama of black and white.

1 – Unique rugs; “People taking risks with their area rugs is a great way to infuse personality into space. Deeply saturated punches of a single colour and/or quirky, freeform shapes are being embraced.” – An example of this trend can be seen at Westminster Fire Station, where interiors will be completed by Studio L, London.

As with a lot of their business, this project came through a recommendation from one of Hill House Interiors’ previous clients.
Helen Bygraves, co-founder at Hill House Interiors, comments; “This is the client’s UK base and second home, which they reside in at various points throughout year. They were looking for a home that was as welcoming and comfortable as it was impressive, with a few pops of colour and a clear focus on maximising the space available, and creating a natural flow between the open plan reception rooms.”

At the heart of Gabriel Square is a modern communal garden for all the residents to share; the inspiration came from the contemporary architecture of the planters and walkways and to reflect an element of the outdoors, indoors. The scheme for Gabriel Square is sophisticated, with playful touches mixed in to appeal to both families and young professionals and to honour the heritage of it’s St Albans location and the lively community who are shaping it.
