Sto has helped to create a balanced acoustic environment at the world-famous Royal Opera House in Convent Garden. The StoSilent Distance monolithic, seamless acoustic solution has been installed within the new entrance foyer and front-of-house spaces as part of the recent ‘Open Up’ refurbishment to make the Royal Opera House a more welcoming building.

We were asked by the Cost Consultants to manufacture a chevron board that met the budgetary requirements of their client. We met with the Architects who are Archer Humphryes Architects to ascertain exactly what the clients required and then produced samples. We managed to produce 3 variations and the client confirmed the one they wanted.

DANDELION’s qualified Mechanical Engineer, Alan McEwen coupled with his life-long interest in British industrial history — he is also an acclaimed author of several books, — in the spring of 2012 with his passion for up-cycling (Alan prefers re-engineering), commenced the construction of DANDELION’s first Quirky Industrial Table which he re-engineered from a mid-Victorian, belt-driven, cast-iron, industrial sewing machine.

KBIS’19, the major kitchen and bathroom event in the U.S., held in Las Vegas from 19 to 21 February, was the showcase chosen by COMPAC to present its Crater CC296, a new sculptural work in a collection designed by the versatile artist Arik Levy. Under the slogan The Surface Beyond, COMPAC proved once again how it expands creative boundaries in this piece standing 3 metres tall, with a weight around one ton, in which the author strives to alter our perception of movement and forms.

Back in 1994, Albion’s founders had a mission – to create the ultimate bathtubs. After looking at the market it was clear that only two materials were available at the time. Acrylic, which is a soft plastic, become popular in the 1970’s due to ease of manufacture and low cost. However, acrylic’s properties fell short of what the customer wanted. It’s flexibility was always an issue. People reported a dread of taking a bath, as they felt the tub might break under their weight. People also said that acrylic was easy to scratch and always had a ‘cheap look about it’. These shortcomings still remain today.
