This 200-year-old cottage had fallen into complete disrepair. The rebuild had to emulate the design and character of the original, while also allowing for the technology of modern living.
PV Slates enabled a solar system to be fitted within the planning restrictions and enable the occupants to generate their own green electricity while still benefiting from the aesthetics of a beautiful, listed Cotswold cottage.
PV Slates are solar panels that look just like light grey natural slates. For this highly sensitive project, custom ‘infill’ slates were used around the edges of the roof. These are made of the same toughened glass as the PV Slates and were made to fit the roof exactly.
