Renowned British artist Jessica Zoob will reveal the biggest display of her paintings to date in an exhibition of two sister art-spaces in the City of London, spanning 7000sqft.
Opening on 23rd May, the exhibition Private View will also feature displays of floral artistry and headwear by up-and-coming designers alongside Zoob’s new epic paintings. Guests at the opening event will be treated to macarons and champagne as they wander between the two galleries curated by VJB Arts.
Named ‘Dreams Do Come True’, the exhibition showcases a series of recent singular and group paintings combining soft, dreamy pastels with radiant splashes of vibrant fluorescence, sometimes on a monumental scale.
Zoob’s exquisitely rendered colours have the ability to emit calming or energetic qualities, it’s impossible not to feel something in front of her ethereal work. Shimmering golden hues compliment floral notes, created with layers and layers of paint in languid application. Her palette has a distinctly Oriental influence and impressionism is ever underlying, yet Zoob’s work is utterly contemporary in style.
“I am deeply passionate about capturing beauty and creating happiness”, she comments, and indeed beauty can be found in every detail of her work. From afar, land and seascapes begin to form in the abstractions, yet up close the tiniest elements become visible; paint reacting against itself in patterns of coagulation.
It could be said that the exhibition title reflects Zoob’s own story, she met and lost the love of her life thirty years ago only to reconnect by chance and marry twenty five years later.
“I may be inspired by a storm, a mountain, or a love affair, or possibly all three.”
