Introducing Commission an Artist
Like many things, new ideas start from problems. My problem a few years ago was that I wanted a contemporary painting of my parents’ house for their ruby wedding anniversary. Without a spare few grand in the bank I was struggling to find an artist and I got tired of trying to find one on Google and getting them to reply!
A few weeks later I was talking to an old friend who is an artist (sadly couldn’t help me with my problem as it was different kind of art), but he said he didn’t know how to market his artwork, wasn’t interested in the business aspects of it and just wanted to concentrate on his art. Within a few weeks Commission an Artist was born. That was 6 years ago and we now have over 350 artists on our books from around the globe, and have completed hundreds of commissions for clients in that time. We are very proud of that.
You think it, we make it
We have had some wonderfully obscure commission requests which our artists love to do. However, our usual commission requests are for Portraits of People or Pets, or Landscapes of beautiful places which mean a lot to our clients. We can also amalgamate photos, and for instance we are presently working on a sad commission where the client’s mum died just before his daughter was born. He is commissioning a piece of artwork which shows his mum and baby together.
Some of our clients order rough sketches first, which is a great way of using different artist’s style for a low cost to be able to compare artists specifically for their particular commission. The team at Commission an Artist are renowned for their friendliness and professionalism, where we understand both the client’s and artist’s needs .
How does it work?
The process is very simple. Clients complete an online form with as much information as they can and we either send it straight out to artists, or ask for further information. We always ask for budgets as this helps us narrow down the artists. We have artists on our books who are at varying stages of their art careers and so charge differently.
Once we have found some artists for we send our clients their profiles, along with proposed options from the artists and their prices for that particular piece of artwork. The client then chooses who to commission.
We are very proud to say that we have 100% client satisfaction, along with some stunning artists from around the world.
