WHAT ARE THE BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS GREEN APPLE AWARDS?
The Beautiful Buildings Awards campaign is a worldwide initiative to show appreciation and recognition for positive contributions to our built environment.
This embraces the architectural and design merits of buildings, structures and constructions; as well as rewarding innovation, ideas and positive aesthetic, environmental and visual elements.

Any type of building of any age will be considered – from a cottage to a castle; from a farm to a factory; from a school to a store; from humble to historic…. Everything!
Entries are invited from architects, builders, national and local authorities, civil engineers, designers, developers, owners – anyone involved in the creation, maintenance or restoration of a beautiful building.
If you have designed, built or bought a building you are proud of, you should apply for an International Green Apple Award for Beautiful Buildings. Large or small, residential or business, ancient or modern – we want to hear about any buildings or structures that have a positive impact on the built environment; either with their appearance or their ‘green’ benefits – such as restoration, recycled materials, low energy, etc.
Every building and structure nominated will be featured in our annual BOOK OF BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS with a full-page full-colour photograph and caption. Published in A5 softback and on The Green Organisation website, you will be given 10 free copies of the book for every nomination you make.
Your entry fee will contribute to the cost of this and The Green Organisation will make up any shortfall. The entry fee is £150 + VAT, discounted to £125 + VAT if paid in 14 days.
FOUR CHANCES TO WIN
WE HAVE GREEN CHAMPIONS, GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE WINNERS IN EACH CATEGORY.
You can apply for – and possibly win – more than one award. The same building can be nominated in more than one appropriate category; or you may wish to nominate more than one property in the same or different categories.
WHAT YOU CAN WIN
Winners will be invited to a glittering award ceremony in London to be presented and photographed with their BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES – and they will have the opportunity to become GREEN WORLD AMBASSADORS to further endorse their positive environmental reputation.
WE WILL PLANT 100 TREES in the names of each Green World Ambassador and, to reward their commitment, each Ambassador will be invited to another special ceremony in THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT PALACE OF WESTMINSTER LONDON to be presented with a prestigious GREEN PLAQUE.
The attractive zinc plaques are engraved with the relevant details and feature an etched picture of the successful building/structure. They can be displayed on the award-winning property, or in the offices of the nominating organisation.
The Green World Ambassadors’ winning buildings will also feature in full colour in THE GREEN BOOK published in A4 softback with Amazon, on USB stick and also on The Green Organisation website. Copies of The Green Book will be given to Green World Ambassadors, and they will also be distributed free of charge around the world to buyers, environment professionals, local authorities, Ministers, reference libraries, the media, etc.
ADDITIONALLY, AMBASSADORS’ WINNING NOMINATIONS WILL ALSO GO FORWARD TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A GREEN WORLD AWARD, THE WORLD’S ONLY TRULY GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT AWARDS SCHEME, WITH THE TROPHIES PRESENTED IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY
EVERY YEAR.
