  • How Cult Furniture styled Channel 4’s “Old House, New Home”

Across Great Britain are some of the world’s most beautiful historic houses with different architectural styles on every street. However, these period properties simply don’t work for us anymore. They aren’t able to meet the demands of modern life. Tackling this problem is George Clarke in his show “Old House New Home”. George is an architect and tv presenter known for his Channel 4 shows “George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces” and “Restoration Man”.

In the show, George reinvigorates historic homes ranging from Victorian terraces to Georgian townhouses. In these homes, George shows viewers what should be cherished and what they should replace to bring this out of style homes into the 21st century. Each episode features George combing the old with the new to achieve a modern-day look that makes the most out of each individual property.

To do these grand renovations George almost exclusively uses Cult Furniture products. George handpicked items from London based Cult Furniture’s line of in-house designs “Cult Studio”. In particular, George favoured the Moda CD3 Armchair, CD1 metal stools, and the upholstered velvet Heather chair.

He uses these products in the first episode where he revamps an outdated 1930s bungalow in Liverpool and a stunning Medieval Farmhouse in Liverpool. Using the pastel blue Moda armchair he introduces a pop of colour to the bedroom. He then uses the gold legged Moda bar stools and blossom pink Heather dining chairs to add some much needed contemporary appeal to the old houses.

Visit Cult Furniture to get inspiration by the looks produced in the show and learn more about all of the products he uses throughout his renovations from dinosaur shaped table lamps to sophisticated dining tables.
