  • Henderson and Redfearn unveils the new handmade Driftwood Kitchen range

With a plethora of sleek new kitchen designs coming on to the market, handmade kitchen specialists Henderson and Redfearn have gone above and beyond to create a unique new range unlike anything else on the contemporary kitchen design market.

A labour of love in both design and manufacture, the newly launched Henderson and Redfearn Driftwood Kitchen has echoes of style elements ranging from a traditional beachfront house to a contemporary city loft.

The Driftwood Kitchen is crafted from solid oak, which is pressure washed, scorched and finished with white lime to achieve the worn and distressed texture, before being given a tough matt top coat; a process that was many months in design and development. As with all Henderson and Redfearn kitchens, every bespoke component is created and finished by hand by the team of skilled craftsmen at the company’s Essex workshops.

“We worked with a variety of designs and finishes to create up with the Driftwood Kitchen,” says the company’s founder Simon Redfearn. “It’s a very complex process to get the depth of character to the oak to create the driftwood look; but the end result is worth it, with really beautiful results that create a unique and timeless style.”

Every Henderson and Redfearn kitchen is designed and handmade to customer requirements. “In many ways, we work in reverse from off-the-shelf kitchens,” explains Simon. “We start with the space and the customer’s unique requirements and create the kitchen to fit every nuance and detail. With a bespoke handmade kitchen, there are no limits to design, space, luxury or usability.”
