PowderLUX© is our latest range, enabling you to recreate the alluring beauty of burnished metal and glazed ceramics. This is an innovative and unique metal finishing process, giving a luxurious depth in tone and feel. Each finish is created anew as it is applied and has an authentic variation in appearance for every customer. The range includes shades of burnished bronze, blue-green copper oxides and pastel hues together with bluing in steel and red and green glazed terracotta.
Evolution™ powders recreate weathered metal and add texture with a vast range of colours and tone. These finishes are also unique to each customer, created on application with natural variations in tone across the surface. Popular amongst these are the ‘Rust’ finishes, varying from bright ‘Scorched earth’ to dark and glittering ‘Diamond mine’. Unlike Corten steel, these finishes are stable, and do not cause staining when in contact with other materials, clothing or water. They are highly reliable metal finishing systems for aluminium, galvanised steel and mild steel and carry the Powdertech 25-year colour, gloss and adhesion guarantee.
We have often displayed our Evolution range at the Surface Design Show in London and, latterly, PowderLUX also. It was interesting to see people touching the surfaces, convinced that it was oxidised copper or rusting steel and to note their surprise when no ‘rust’ came off on their hands. We noticed particular attention from interior designers for whom a combination of perforated metal panels and unique shades of metal patination suggested new creative paths.
The powders have been tested, rigorously and independently to industry standards. The test procedures include adhesion, corrosion and humidity resistance and mechanical tests include sawing, milling, drilling, bending and cutting. These are robust, tough finishes!
