  • Miami-Inspired Bar, Hill House Interiors

Hill House Interiors designed this private bar for clients who divide their time between Surrey and Miami. The brief was to bring the colour, energy and sociability of Miami into their UK home, creating a distinctive entertaining space suited to both intimate drinks and larger gatherings.

The illuminated rose quartz bar forms the centrepiece of the room. Its translucent stone surface is combined with a bespoke textured bronze finish and malachite detailing, creating a richly layered focal point. The rose quartz was selected not only for its colour and luminosity, but also for its association with love and positive energy, reflecting the convivial purpose of the space.

The seating layout was planned to support different forms of entertaining. A sweeping chaise-style sofa is paired with green swivel chairs and upholstered bar stools finished with decorative fringing. The arrangement allows guests to gather in smaller groups while maintaining a clear relationship with the bar and the wider room.

A custom Wendy Morrison rug anchors the seating area. Its design incorporates cheetahs, zebra pattern, palm trees and tropical colours, introducing a playful visual narrative while connecting the furniture and decorative finishes across the scheme.

Above, a gold-leaf coffered ceiling emphasises the architecture of the room and reflects warm light across the interior. The metallic ceiling, illuminated stone, patterned rug and saturated upholstery combine to create a layered composition of colour, texture and pattern.

The completed space balances Miami-inspired exuberance with the precision and detailing of a bespoke British interior. Designed specifically around the clients’ lifestyle, it provides a flexible and highly individual setting for cocktails, parties and informal entertaining.
