Northern Lights unveils its 2026 Ceiling Collection – a series of sculptural lighting designs where light, material, and form converge to redefine luxury interiors. Precision-designed and handcrafted in Derbyshire, each piece balances technical mastery with authentic British craftsmanship, offering designers a palette of materials, textures, and configurations to realise one-of-a-kind compositions.
Located in a newly built residential building in the Washington district of Milan, the apartment unfolds over three levels and is designed for a family of five. The project naturally interprets the typically Milanese dialogue between history and innovation. A neighborhood characterized by historic buildings and a strong presence of green spaces becomes the ideal context for a contemporary urban villa project that embraces modern design while maintaining a deep sense of warmth and balance.

When Melissa Benham, principal of Studio Emblem & Co., moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, she was seeking a new chapter, one infused with the city’s creative pulse and luminous light. By chance, so were her longtime clients: a young couple and avid art collectors with whom she’d collaborated on multiple homes over the past decade. Their paths converged in Los Feliz, the creative Eastside enclave that has long drawn artists, filmmakers, and visionaries. This project, Benham’s first since opening Studio Emblem & Co. in West Hollywood after a decade as partner of Chicago’s Studio Gild, would become both a personal milestone and a defining expression of her evolving aesthetic.
