  • LYNDON DESIGN UNVEILS CONTEMPORARY MR. & MRS. WING CHAIRS

Lyndon Design has unveiled its own take on the classic wing chair with the launch of a new and luxurious duo, aptly named Mr. & Mrs. This latest furniture launch follows the company’s bid to strengthen its hospitality offering and is in response to client demand.

Designed in-house by Caroline Atack, the new handcrafted Mr. & Mrs. wing chairs pay respectful homage to their stately grandeur, whilst incorporating contemporary touches that make them suitable for today’s hospitality and boutique hotel environment, and even the corporate arena. Designed to sit amiably alongside sofas and other furnishings, both chairs may be used as standalone pieces to make a bold design statement.

Both the height of the wing chairs and their corresponding details has been a careful consideration in the design appeal and personality of this duo. Whilst the high backed version offers a masculine feel with full under frame, full seat and wooden buttons, the low-backed chair comes complete with loose cushions, border, fabric buttons and leg detail. Such is the flexibility of this range that the detail from both chairs may be transferred to each other, if preferred.

Stylistically, the wings and arms of Mr. & Mrs. have been designed to make a deliberate soft, contemporary statement and true to the chairs’ classic design, they are all-enveloping and draw the sitter into luxury and comfort.

Lyndon Design’s expertise in handcrafted upholstery is evident in the design of this couple and as always, the end result is a technical as well as aesthetic triumph. Whilst Mr. features a solid wood underframe with profiled cushions, Mrs. is completed by a solid wood leg. To satisfy the needs of a variety of settings and interior décor, Mr. & Mrs. can be specified in wide range of contrasting fabrics, colours and woods including oak, walnut and beech.

Managing Director at Lyndon Design, Tim Armitt, comments: “The Mr. & Mrs. Range of wing chairs is testament to our resolve to strengthen our hospitality offering. Their aesthetic design fully reflects the fireside allure that wing chairs have, combined with the ultimate in indulgent comfort. This development also demonstrates our ability to transform customer demand into flagship designs and product offerings that have a very wide appeal.”
