PRETTY IN PINK: A HOME WITH A MATCHING LIFT

When decorating our home, most of us like to match the flooring to the window coverings and dress the rooms with cushions, throws and other ornamental items. But one couple from Gloucestershire have taken it a step further by blending a rather different and unusual product into their pink-coloured living room and master bedroom.

TIMBER EXPO RETURNS

The most important event in the timber industry’s calendar Timber Expo is back for 2016, returning as part of UK Construction Week. Strengthening its roots in Birmingham, Timber Expo will take place on 18 – 20 October at the NEC.

With some of the timber industry’s biggest names already on-board including Steico, W Howard Group and Jagram, as well as additional support from leading timber trade associations such as The Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA), visitors to Timber Expo 2016 will not want to miss the landmark event.

You can choose from 18 different designs with 3 different wood types (walnut, oak or bog oak). They produce  their panels from the same, high quality wood that furniture manufacturers use for luxurious furniture and  don’t use reclaimed wood.

Closing the window to the outside hubbub, and creating a sanctuary for guests to unwind and relax, is a high priority for hoteliers. Especially with the growing numbers of tourists visiting the UK’s historical towns and major city centres.

Many hotels can be found in traditional buildings with original single glazed windows, which offer minimal noise and thermal insulation. Surveys show that about half a hotel’s energy consumption is used for heating, so raising insulation would assist in reducing costs.
